What is Therapy?

At Clinical Partners we have brought together a team of experienced, approachable and talented Counsellors and Psychotherapists to help you with all kinds of emotional and psychological difficulties from relationship and life difficulties, to work and career issues through to more serious mental health problems such as eating disorders, addictions and depression.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is an umbrella term that covers a range of talking therapies – of which there are many different types. To read more about the Therapeutic Approaches.

A Psychotherapist is an individual who has trained in a particular area and gained a formal qualification. Unlike other medical fields, not all areas of Counselling and Psychotherapy are legally regulated and the training requirements for the different areas vary.

At Clinical Partners we only work with highly skilled and trained practitioners who have mostly obtained a Master's degree in their chosen field and who are associated with a professional regulator or governing body.

Why See a Psychotherapist?

Psychologists help a wide variety of people and can treat many kinds of problems. Therapy offers a safe and confidential place in which to talk about issues in your life that maybe upsetting, stressful or making you feel uncomfortable. You could feel dissatisfaction with life in general or you wish to seek balance in your life or there is a particular issue like divorce, bereavement, depression, redundancy, relationships, stress that you want to address.

Alternatively, there could be a more difficult issue that you are facing like an eating disorder or alcohol or substance abuse or bipolar affective disorder. Whatever the issue is you are facing Psychotherapists can work over a short or a long term period to help bring about effective change in a person's life and enhance their wellbeing.

Finding the right Psychotherapist for you

We know how hard it is to find the right Psychotherapist. To navigate the names, qualifications and treatments on offer is difficult and time consuming and does not always guarantee finding the right therapist for you. We also know that treatment only works if you like and trust your therapist. And that's about personalities, as well as qualifications. At Clinical Partners we have a team of highly qualified and experienced Psychotherapists who are experts across a broad spectrum of issues and disorders. When you call our Admissions Counsellor she will listen to your enquiry and then will recommend an appropriate Psychotherapist for you and your situation.

Deciding on the right treatment approach for you

If you have never seen a professional about an emotional or mental health issue it can be confusing and you may not know which approach or treatment best suits your needs.

At Clinical Partners we have a highly experienced team of practitioners from a number of disciplines including Counselling and Psychotherapy, Psychiatry and Psychology. All of our team have professional qualifications (mostly Master's degrees) and extensive experience in their field.

Depending on your individual issues our trained admissions counsellor will be able to recommend the most appropriate specialist or team of specialists for you. So it may be appropriate to see a Psychologist or a Psychotherapist or if there are possible medical issues we would advise you had an initial assessment with a Psychiatrist who has a medical as well as psychiatric background.

This means you get the right help, at the right time, from someone who's not only an expert in their field, but also from an expert with the most appropriate approach for your situation.

How Can We Help?

Whatever your circumstance we will be able to help you in total confidence. By calling our Admissions Counsellor you will be able to talk in confidence about your situation and we can recommend a specialist to assist you.

We will then arrange an initial consultation at a time that suits you and create a treatment plan with you. It may be that different disciplines such as psychology or psychiatry are required and we can also organise this for you. If subsequent appointments are required we can arrange convenient times with you at either of our two clinics in West London.

It's about getting better. Better treatment. Better support. Better help. And better health.
