Kavitha Pasunuru

Dr Kavitha Pasunuru is a highly experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who works for Gwent Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), part of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Dr Pasunuru is able to help with a wide range of emotional, psychological and behavioural difficulties in children and young people including depression and anxiety, psychosis and eating disorders.

Dr Pasunuru is experienced in carrying out assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, and is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) which is recognised as being the gold standard in assessing Autism. She also offers a range of psychotherapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational interviewing and Systemic Family Therapy.

Dr Pasunuru designed the local guidelines to be followed for assessing and managing children and young adults referred to CAMHS for depressive symptoms and was part of the faculty involved in delivering training to school teachers about multiagency approach to ADHD

Dr Pasunuru is an extremely gentle clinician, with a warm and welcoming approach who came to us strongly recommended by her peers and we are delighted to have her join us
