Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Location: Edinburgh / Glasgow
Dr Graham is a highly experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist currently working for NHS Tayside in their Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. He has a Medical Degree, Bachelor's in Biochemistry, is a member of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health and has completed all membership examinations for the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health and Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Graham has over 8 years’ experience working as a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist, prior to which he trained to specialist level in Paediatrics.
With experience across a number of different areas, Dr Graham is able to see Children & Adolescents suffering with ADHD, Behavioural Problems, Depression, PTSD and Self-Harm. He is also highly capable and has an interest in Attachment and Early Years Issues, along with Gender Difficulties.
Dr Graham is an active Medico Legal Expert, able to work with a range of clients and complete reports for court where required. His areas of interest are Abuse, ADHD, PTSD, Tourette’s Syndrome, Autism, Depression, Anxiety and OCD, Personality Disorders & Complex Trauma/Attachment.
He has experience in using a range of assessment and treatment approaches, which he tailors to individual cases. As well as experience in prescribing medication he can employ elements from areas such as behavioural analysis, cognitive behavioural and related therapies, and motivational interviewing approaches.
Described by his peers as a skilful clinician, Dr Graham is enthusiastic, honest and passionate about supporting young people to overcome their difficulties and reach their full potential. He is very open with young people and their parents and can build up a good rapport enabling a therapeutic relationship to develop and thrive.
