Dr Louise Richards

Dr Louise Richards is a competent Clinical Psychologist, currently working for the Eating Disorder Service at NHS Tayside as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. She has a BSc in Psychology, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Dr Richards has over 10 years’ experience in delivering psychological assessment and therapy within the NHS in Scotland. Her training and experience lies in working with complex difficulties, people who are experiencing multiple difficulties at once or those whose difficulties have been unresponsive to previous therapies.

Her current areas of special interest include depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and difficulties with eating and weight management. Dr Richards is also highly competent with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, OCD, Dementia and Psychosis. She tailors therapy to each individual and is experienced in using therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy.

Dr Richards has medico-legal experience, and is competent at both report writing and courtroom appearances along with expert witness work and providing independent reports for mental health tribunals.

Dr Richards is described as a highly trained and dedicated Clinical Psychologist, who fosters strong relationships with her patients and works hard for the benefit of others. Clinical Partners are delighted to welcome Dr Richards to our Scottish Team.
