Dr Rachael Rattlidge

Dr Rachael Rattlidge is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over a decade of experience supporting young people with a wide range of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, learning difficulties, anxiety, and low mood.
After graduating from Cardiff University, she trained in multiple psychiatric specialties across Bristol before completing higher training in child and adolescent psychiatry. She has since worked across various NHS settings, including inpatient adolescent hospitals, community and outreach teams, and a forensic unit, gaining extensive experience in assessing and treating complex mental health needs.
Dr Rattlidge has a special interest in autism and has previously led a neurodevelopmental clinic providing autism assessments. She is also approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act, recognising her experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.
She takes a patient-centred, collaborative approach, involving families and carers in care planning to ensure the most appropriate and compassionate support.
Colleagues describe Dr Rattlidge as approachable, knowledgeable, and sensitive in her work with vulnerable patients and their families. She is also passionate about medical education and has taught both medical students and psychiatry trainees.
