Dr Jennifer Opoku-Lageyre

Dr Jennifer Opoku-Lageyre is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 10 years of experience supporting adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties. She has worked in both the NHS and private sectors, and currently practices as a therapist and clinical supervisor with Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Jennifer tailors therapy to each individual, offering both short-term, goal-focused work and longer-term support depending on a person’s needs. She draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) – particularly for trauma and complex needs.

She is also trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed treatment, and draws on a range of additional models such as ego state therapy and the Comprehensive Resource Model where appropriate.

Jennifer has specialist experience in treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, bereavement, relationship issues, and low self-esteem. She also has training in supporting people with long-term conditions, such as chronic fatigue, IBS, and persistent pain.

Known for her calm, compassionate presence, Jennifer creates a safe and respectful space where clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered.

Jennifer changed my life. I don’t think there’s a bigger compliment than that. If you’ve been putting off getting help for anything, for whatever reason that may be, stop what you’re doing a request to see someone at Clinical Partners. Friendly, warm and make you feel at easy from the moment you get there. Couldn’t recommend enough.
