Dr Susan Bartholomew

Dr Susan Bartholomew is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families facing complex psychological and neurodevelopmental challenges. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Dr Bartholomew specialises in the assessment and support of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural needs. She is fully trained in using the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, the gold-standard diagnostic tools for autism, alongside a wide range of psychometric assessments.
With a thoughtful and family-centred approach, she also works with parents and carers experiencing stress or mental health challenges related to caregiving. Her support extends to helping families understand and navigate difficult emotional or behavioural patterns.
She draws on several evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Play Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, and Systemic Family Therapy, always tailoring care to the unique needs of each child and family.
Dr Bartholomew is known for being thorough, approachable, and highly conscientious in her clinical work, providing a safe and supportive space for families throughout their journey.
