Recognising early signs of mania in bipolar disorder

The early signs of mania in someone with bipolar disorder can vary widely from person to person. Some common indicators might include sustained elevated mood, reduced need for sleep, an increase in energy, or unusual or overly ambitious ideas. In rarer cases, hallucinations or delusional beliefs may even occur.
