After your child's psychiatric assessment

Your clinician may recommend talking therapy, further assessment, lifestyle or wellbeing support, and in some cases medication. If medication is recommended, the specialist clinician will explain why, discuss benefits and possible side effects, and answer any questions.

Where appropriate, you can book follow up appointments for your child with the same clinician.

With your consent, we can share a summary of your assessment outcome and personalised recommendations with your child's GP. Your child's GP can also support you and your child alongside any private care, for example by coordinating care or helping with referrals where needed.
