Dr Elizabeth Green

Dr. Elizabeth Green is a highly experienced clinician with 24 years of NHS service, bringing a wealth of experience from various medical fields.

Elizabeth’s early career focused on hospital medicine and emergency care. However, with a young family, she changed her medical pathway to psychiatry, choosing child psychiatry for its holistic approach. Elizabeth is herself an expert by experience in child and adolescent mental health, with her own children having diagnoses of ASD and ADHD. She has also been on her own journey of discovery of neurodiversity. This has deepened her empathy and compassion toward young people and families dealing with mental health and neurodivergent conditions, and gives her a unique understanding of the complexities this brings.

Known for her compassionate and patient-centred approach, Elizabeth believes in listening actively to patients and their carers, recognising them as the experts on their own experiences. She is passionate about maintaining high standards of care and quality reporting, putting the patient first and working collaboratively with them to find the right solution for their needs.

Former clients and colleagues have praised her dedication and expertise. One client expressed gratitude for finally moving forward after years of uncertainty, attributing their progress to her care. Elizabeth’s personal and professional experiences make her uniquely equipped to support young people with mental health challenges and neurodiversity.

"We feel like we are moving forward now we finally have answers, after seven years, all thanks to you."

Her personal experience as a parent of three autistic children, alongside her own neurodiversity discovery, has deepened her understanding, compassion, and commitment to supporting young people with mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.

This lived experience deepens her compassion, insight, and ability to support families navigating neurodevelopmental conditions, giving her a greater understanding and empathy for young people and their carers facing mental health and neurodiversity challenges.
