Real Life is designed to help people move from recognition to understanding. The episodes give viewers a way to hear experiences they may recognise, make sense of what those experiences might mean, and think about what support could look like in real life.

Created to be watched, shared and returned to, Real Life can support people at different stages of their journey by helping them build understanding, make sense of their needs and explore practical strategies they can use in everyday life.

A practical support resource for patients, families and carers

Real Life is designed to sit alongside wider care. It does not replace clinical support, but can help people build the words for what they are experiencing, understand clinical information in a practical way and feel more able to take one safe, realistic next step.

Each series has a consistent feel and format, combining lived experience, clinical insight and practical guidance. This means people can move between topics as their needs change, while still finding a familiar and trusted space.

ADHD

Exploring how ADHD can affect attention, emotions, routines, relationships and self-understanding, with practical ideas for support and adjustment.

Anxiety

Looking at how anxiety can show up in thoughts, feelings, the body and everyday decisions, and what can help people feel safer and more able to cope.

More Real Life series are coming

The first few episodes of ADHD and Anxiety series are live now, with more episodes being added fortnightly. Depression, PTSD, OCD and Eating Disorders series will be launching over the coming months. Together, the six Real Life series will create a practical, needs-based support resource that patients, families and teams can return to as their needs change.

More Real Life episodes will be released on YouTube in stages over the coming months, so please check back as new content becomes available.

Why Real Life is different

Real Life was built from the ground up through patient insight, lived experience and specialist expertise, with safety, accessibility and practical value designed into every stage.

The topics were shaped through patient workshops and learning from earlier support work, including Autism Unlocked and Divergent Voices. Each episode has been developed to feel honest, human and useful, while being specialist reviewed so the films are safe, accurate, accessible and suitable to share alongside wider care.

Real Life can help people:

  • recognise what they may be experiencing

  • hear how others describe similar experiences

  • feel less alone

  • build the words to explain what is happening

  • understand clinical information in a practical way

  • prepare for appointments and conversations

  • explore support, adjustments and strategies

  • know when to seek further help
