Dr Ui Peng Khoo is an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who is currently working at Oxleas Mental Health Foundation Trust in the NHS. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics at Trinity College Dublin. She has both Membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (2004) as well as Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (1997). She also has a certificate in Systemic Practice (Family Therapy).
Dr Khoo has over 23 years’ experience working in the NHS in both psychiatry and acute paediatrics.
Dr Khoo enjoys working with a broad range of conditions (Mood disorders, self-harm, OCD, PTSD) and has extensive experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders (Autistic Spectrum Disorders and ADHD). With her experience and training in paediatrics, Dr Khoo has a special interest in paediatric liaison. She also has in interest in attachment, fostering and adoption. Dr Khoo is trained in the DISCO (Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders) and the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule) as well as the ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised). Dr Khoo comes from Malaysia and brings with her insight and understanding of South East Asian culture, customs and language. She has a holistic view of physical and mental health and is interested in the role of music and arts in promoting mental health. She brings a wealth of experience and skill and has a warm playful approach with children.
