Understanding mental health and neurodivergence is not always straightforward. Clinical information can help explain symptoms and experiences, but sometimes we need to hear from people who have been through something similar. Their stories can help us recognise experiences we share, understand others better, and find the words for things we may have struggled to explain.
Real Life is a YouTube video series created by Clinical Partners that brings people with lived experience together with expert clinicians in honest conversations about mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions, and everyday life.
Through the lens of lived experience, the series tackles questions that people don’t always get the opportunity to ask, exploring the realities behind mental health difficulties and the experiences that can be hard to put into words.
Asking the questions that matter
Across 47 episodes, Real Life explores topics including ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and eating disorders.
Each conversation combines personal perspectives with clinical insight and practical guidance. They explore questions that matter to people navigating their own experiences, including how someone can move from feelings of pain and shame towards a different understanding of themselves.
“Naming the shame actually lessens its power.”

Exploring related topics
Mental health experiences can overlap, and exploring related topics can sometimes offer a broader understanding of what you or someone close to you may be experiencing.
If you are interested in learning more about trauma, you can explore the Real Life trauma episodes alongside conversations about anxiety, depression, and other aspects of mental health.
Real Life also explores neurodivergence, with ADHD featuring prominently in the series. Episodes look at how ADHD can affect everyday life, the challenges people may face and the questions they might have about their own experiences or those of someone close to them.
Whether you want to understand ADHD better, explore other aspects of neurodivergence or learn more about mental health, you can browse the series to find topics that interest you.
