I was seen very quickly, following a conversation with someone in the triage team who really took the time to understand what my concerns were. I wasn’t sure about getting a diagnosis, but the appointment with the Psychiatrist was excellent, very thorough and I have been amazed at level of care taken by the clinician to understand me. The comprehensive report which followed, has been incredibly useful and I now feel more confident about going forward.
I was surprised how easy it was to get hold of someone to talk to about appointments, and changes to my condition – every time I have rung I have spoken to someone who understands Bipolar. Everybody I’ve spoken with has been very friendly, certainly non-judgemental and made me feel at ease. My appointment was very thorough, I was quickly able to talk about everything I needed to.
I have struggled on and off with depression most of my life. My GP has prescribed antidepressants and a short course of CBT, but they haven’t really helped. I was a bit nervous about paying privately, but it was well worth it. I saw a Psychiatrist who obviously really understands depression and actually changed my diagnosis. Just to say thank you for the whole team for helping me, it’s been great to finally get a proper treatment plan in place, I don’t know why I delayed doing this for so long. The whole process was really clear and the triage team were really nice to me on the phone, always polite. I have had six sessions of therapy so far and it seems to be making a difference already!
The ADHD assessment was very thorough, I felt like no stone was left unturned. It was a surprise to me to learn that I also have depression, which helps explain some of how I have been feeling. Now I have a proper medication plan in place I feel much better, the Dr. explained the whole thing to me and I am looking forward to things settling down.
