Dr Sarah Michaels

Dr Sarah Michaels is a friendly and compassionate General Practitioner with a special interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly those who are autistic or have ADHD.
She trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital and has worked in the NHS for over 10 years, including with the Mood and Personality Team at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and as a GP for the past three years.
Dr Michaels takes a holistic, person-centred approach, recognising that neurodivergent people often experience overlapping challenges. She is comfortable working with associated traits and conditions such as ARFID, PDA, orthostatic intolerance, hypermobility, and sleep difficulties—including advising on sleep hygiene, monitoring, and prescribing melatonin where appropriate. While not a subspecialist in areas like addiction or orthorexia, she is happy to support individuals with these issues if they are not currently acute.
She also offers thoughtful, neuro-affirmative care, helping individuals explore their identities and access appropriate assessments. Having lived experience of neurodiversity within her family, she is passionate about empowering patients to understand themselves and thrive.
Dr Michaels sees patients online, creating a warm and inclusive space for care.
Dr Michaels is exceedingly diligent and thorough. She is skilled in working with patients where mental health, addiction, neurodiversity and physical health issues all overlap. As such, she is a well-respected colleague at the practice.
