Dr Prajakta Patil

Dr Patil is a Consultant Psychiatrist working for Kent and Medway NHS Trust, across adult low security, police custody and court diversion services. Dr Patil has a medical degree, a post graduate diploma in Child Law, a diploma in Mental Health Law, and is a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Medical Defence Union.

Prior to this she practiced as a Consultant Psychiatrist at South West London & St George`s NHS Trust until 2015. She has completed her postgraduate psychiatric training from London and Newcastle.

Her areas of practice include the full range of psychiatric conditions such as Adult ADHD, Anxiety, Phobias, Depressive Disorders, Stress related symptoms including work stress, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Personality Disorder, Grief/Bereavement, Post-natal Depression and medicolegal reports.

Dr Patil is also trained in psychological therapies and uses psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, problem solving and mindfulness based approaches in her treatment, tailored to the needs of each individual.

Apart from English, Dr Patil is also fluent in Hindi, Marathi and can offer consultations in these languages. She can also understand Urdu and Punjabi. She provides treatment approaches in line with the latest guidelines from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and is the Consultant Lead overseeing the implementation of these guidelines in Specialist services in her NHS Trust.

Dr Patil has a warm and empathic manner and believes in treating the individual as whole and simultaneously promoting positive mental health. Clinical Partners are pleased to welcome Dr Patil to our South East team.
