Alison is an incredibly calm and empathetic individual who is very considered in her approach. She explores the origins of behaviours that have become self-defeating, but also focuses on improving an individual's life and well-being in the present, on current coping strategies and support systems. She aims to work in a transparent and collaborative way, to help clients explore and find the best way forward.
Alison specialises in the treatment of alcohol and substance abuse and process addictions (including compulsive overspending, sexual addiction and addictive patterns in relationships). Alison also has experience working with LGBT community and works with the Terence Higgins Trust.
She has had many years of experience working with people at all stages of the journey of recovery from addiction, particularly those who have stopped the addictive behaviours and now find that they need professional help to deal with underlying issues. Alison also has extensive experience in eating disorders, depression, offering family support, issues around sexuality and gender identity, stress, panic and coping with life, work and career issues.
