Dr Emma Pillinger is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with over 19 years of experience working in both public and private sectors, in community, residential, and hospital settings. She currently works part time for Devon Partnership NHS Trust and independently as a Functional Medicine Practitioner. She has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the Institute of Functional Medicine, and the EMDR Association UK. Working with people individually, as a couple, family, group or staff team, Dr Pillinger uses a range of psychological therapeutic models and theories to inform her work, predominantly utilising attachment, systemic, psychodynamic, and functional health principles. Specialising in EMDR and ‘parts’ work, her approach is trauma-informed and underpinned by humanistic values that incorporate an essential focus upon building and maintaining the therapeutic relationship – she is committed to creating and contributing to a culture of kindness within healthcare.
Dr Pillinger sees patient across all age ranges and is able to offer therapy to individuals, couples and groups, for many difficulties including: Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; (ADHD) Anxiety; Autistic Spectrum Conditions/Disorder; Depression; Eating disorders; Grief and Loss; Learning difficulties; Long Term Conditions and/or Persistent Physical Symptoms; Neurological conditions; Personal, sexual, and/or family relationships; Personality development/disorder; Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Self-harm/suicidal ideation; Serious and enduring mental illness; Sexual orientation and gender identity; and, Trauma.
