Dr Raj Dangi is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist with 20 years of experience in psychiatry in both in-patient & community settings; currently working for the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. His qualifications include: MBBS, Diploma in Psychiatry, Masters in Hospital Administration and MRCPsych. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, GMC accredited trainer and is an Approved Clinician under Mental Health Act, 2007.
Dr Dangi brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the assessment and treatment of a whole range of mental health conditions, such as: organic psychiatric conditions, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder (mania, depression), recurrent depressive disorder, complex anxiety disorders such as PTSD, and personality disorders and comorbid substance misuse cases. He has a special interest in substance misuse and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He is also extensively experienced in dealing with patients with forensic or criminal histories; having worked in prisons.
Alongside his routine NHS work, Dr Dangi regularly acts as a Medico-Legal expert, both in civil and criminal matters. He undertakes independent psychiatric assessments, provides high quality psychiatric reports and provides oral evidence in courts if needed.
Dr Dangi has taught at Nottingham University and local MRCPsych courses. He has undertaken research at Nottingham university and has published in reputed peer reviewed journals.
