Charlene has 20 years experience working as a mental health professional treating adults and young people. She is a psychotherapist and an addiction specialist treating both behavioural and substance issues.
She has worked within NHS forensic healthcare system, private practice, primary care, private rehabilitation, psychiatric hospitals and secondary schools, helping young people struggling with process and substance addictions such as sex, shopping, drug dependency, gambling and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. She also has substantial experience working with PTSD symptoms stemming from childhood trauma and historical sexual abuse.
Charlene uses attachment theory and relational therapy as a base for her interventions and has experience writing and delivering anger management programmes, facilitating support groups and running women's groups focusing on self-esteem.
Charlene is extremely honest, warm and empathic and believes in empowering and guiding her clients to reach into existing strengths and resources to enable a more fulfilling life.
